Lotts and Lots | Making the everyday beautiful

Inspired, August

Friday, 4 August 2017

One thing I love most about having a garden is seeing the colours change throughout the months - every single bunch of flowers I've picked is full of different colours and shapes subtly changing with the seasons. Spring months bring the first bursts of yellows and reds whilst early summer brings soft pastels from billowy roses. I always start to feel the change of seasons when August arrives and whilst I know that there are still weeks of summer to go I always feel a little sad that my favourite time of year is coming to an end. I haven't spent as much time as I'd have liked in the garden lately, the main job is weeding which I currently have no inclination to tackle.  I popped outside yesterday to rescue a few wind damaged flowers and was greeted with this amazing colour palette of magentas and oranges. Whilst Stanley slept I had a play around and love the results of these vibrant colours, it's like they've hit a refresh button and I feel ready to get back out in the garden (I've been buying a few new plants this week) but also give some flower dying a try. It's been on my to do list for a while (you can see my Pinterest board here) and I have some silk ready to give it a go - I can't wait! I hope you have a great month, the baby is due in a month (eek!) so if I'm not here for a while I'm getting to grips  with having two small ones but will keep updating my blog when I can. xx
